Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has seemingly confirmed what has been previously reported last week: There will not be a series of The X Factor next year. It is understood the show will take a break from screens as Simon Cowell launches the format stateside.
Speaking in an interview at the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2010, thetalent show judge revealed her inside knowledge of Simon Cowell’s plans for the show.
Amanda said: “There’s loads of changes afoot next year, I know that there’s no more X Factor – well, at least for next year.”
It is believed that the eighth series of the show will move to an earlier time in the year, with possibly a completely new format and judging panel.
Meanwhile last night’s audition episode drew an audience of over 10.7 million viewers, up on last week’s record breaking ratings.
